Where the Taurus Mountains meet the sea, Kemer is the most popular holiday region west of Antalya, with bays surrounded by pine forests. If you want clear water, a lively marina and outdoor activities in one place, Kemer is a great choice.
Kemer’s holiday areas
“Kemer” is often used for one stretch of coast, but hotels can be quite far apart:
- Beldibi: the area closest to Antalya, a narrow coast between mountains and sea.
- Göynük and Kiriş: calm bays ideal for families.
- Kemer centre: marina, restaurants and nightlife.
- Çamyuva and Tekirova: further south, quiet holidays surrounded by forest.
Places to see
- Phaselis: an ancient city with three harbours and bays inside a pine forest.
- Mount Tahtalı: take the cable car to the summit and see the sea and mountains at once.
- Göynük Canyon: hiking and cool water, popular in summer.
- Kemer Marina: the starting point for boat trips and perfect for evening walks.
From the airport to Kemer
Kemer centre is about 55 km from Antalya Airport. The road passes Antalya city and runs south along the coast, usually taking 50–60 minutes depending on traffic; southern areas such as Tekirova take a few minutes more. Because city traffic can add time in summer, a private transfer planned around your flight makes things easier.
